Breast/Buttocks
Lipofilling
Breast /buttocks augmentation is an issue for many young women who have very small breasts/buttocks at the end of their growth. Also, women who find their breasts/buttocks altered after childbirth and breastfeeding can feel unhappy about their breasts/buttocks.
Apart from breast augmentation through implants, it is possible to surgically enlarge breasts by using the patient’s own fat from other body areas, a technique called lipofilling or fat grafting.

In the approach of lipolifting, fat is taken from body zones with excess fatty tissue using a special liposuction technique. The harvested fat is processed and reinjected into the breast through micro-cannulas. The tiny fat droplets will grow in and permanently enlarge the volume of the breast as stable, living fat cells. A part of the injected fat, however, will be resorbed over time. The great advantage of breast augmentation through autologous fat grafting lies in the absence of any foreign bodies. On the other hand, this technique leads to only small to medium size enlargements, nor can it be said precisely how much of the fat injected will actually grow in. Generally speaking, lipofilling will produce an enlargement by half or ideally a full cup size. We often apply this technique in combination with an implant augmentation to even out existing imperfections or to better cover a silicon implant in slim patients.

Treatment process
During the consultation / before the operation
As a first step, we ask you to explain to us what exactly is bothering you and what you would like to have corrected. Perhaps you also have an idea of a beautiful breast that you would want that could suit you. Of course, your personal medical history and your family predisposition to breast diseases will also be discussed.
After an initial examination of the breast and possible donor zones for fat tissue extraction, we will work with you to find the optimal solution to come as close as possible to your ideal image. It is evaluated whether you are at all suitable for breast augmentation with autologous fat and whether a good result can be expected. The risks and complications are of course also discussed.
You will also be informed in detail about the technical details of the intervention as well as the organizational details and formalities. A second consultation usually takes place in order to discuss the planned measures again and to answer any further questions.
The anaesthetist will contact you by phone the evening before to discuss the anaesthesia process with you and answer any questions you may have.
What happens on the day of the operation?
Unless the anaesthetist instructs you differently, you should usually be sober by midnight. In the morning you will be welcomed by our team in the Center Clinic. The anaesthetist will have another informative conversation with you. You will also have another conversation with the surgeon to clarify any final questions and to plan the operation with drawings. Depending on the size, breast augmentation with autologous fat takes 1–2 hours. You will then be looked after in the wake-up station by our qualified nurse. You should wear the compression clothing adapted to you day and night for 6 weeks. Of course, it can be taken off for body care.
This procedure can usually be carried out without any problems under day clinic conditions.
All necessary aids and medication are of course made available to you.
Is breast augmentation with autologous fat painful?
Mild pain may occur after this treatment. You will, of course, be provided with all the painkillers you need.
What happens in the days after the surgery?
You will be provided with all the necessary aids and medication. So you don't have to worry about anything! As a rule, you should consistently wear the compression clothing that has been adapted to you for 6 weeks. You will also receive the mobile numbers of the surgeon and the anaesthetist so that you can seek advice at any time if you are unsure.
In order to keep swelling and bleeding to a minimum, sensible physical rest for the first 2-3 days after an autologous fat transplantation is absolutely necessary. You can and should be active again immediately - within a reasonable framework. Bed rest is not necessary.
Intense physical activity should be avoided for 4–8 weeks.
When will I be socially acceptable again?
Usually immediately. Of course, a restricted movement in the shoulder area and slight pain in the donor regions must be assumed.
